Decline in Crimes, Road Accident, and pollution due to Corona Virus.

1. Crimes:

Just after the lockdown a huge decline in crime as been recorded. For example, in Delhi 80% decline in crimes had been noticed. In Uttar Pradesh, crimes has reduced by 60%. In New York city and Chicago the crime rate had decreased by 16.6% and 29.6% respectively. In UK 20% decline is recorded.

2. Road Accident: 

Before Pandemic,  According to 2018 data 377 people lost their life every day due to road mishaps in India. In America, more than 38,000 people die in crashes each year.

Just after the lockdown in America road mishaps had decreased by half.

In India, there is not correct data but according to traffic police department many lives had been saved due to lockdown.

3. Pollution

Pollution is a thing that you can even observe. The above picture is from Wuhan, China. you can clearly see the effect of lockdown.

PM2.5: according to WHO around 4 millions people die due to PM2.5 every year.

But after lockdown according to the research done by Standford University, Coronavirus Lockdown had saved the lives of 77,000 in China, just by reducing pollution.

Concentration of NO2 had been decreased all over the world. River such as Yamuna and Ganga are also improving. Research shows that one of the world's most polluted river Ganga had improved by 30%.

Conclusion:

 So we are finding that coronavirus is saving millions of lifes from crimes, accidents and deaths.

but at what cost.  Till now 1.4 millions people had died due to COVID-19. And numbers are increasing furiously.
